Greater Things Naming Announcement

The story of most great things in this world rests upon one common theme; good people who have seen crushing need and responded with the offer of hope.  When our sense of shared humanity wins out over self-service, Greater Things happen. As Good News Clinics prepares to close our design development process and break ground in the coming year on expanded facilities, we owe the honor of recognition and gratitude to some very good people of Gainesville for signature gifts they have pledged to make our
expanded mission possible.

Over 200 donors have come together since January to pledge over $6M toward our Greater Things Campaign. The compassion and concern of these donors is part of God’s mark on their lives. I am
reminded of an early picture of volunteers and patients, staff and caregivers joining hands, in a circle, to pray before the start of The Clinics’ workday.

Matthew’s gospel puts it like this in chapter 9, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on
them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to
send out workers into his harvest field.’”

We are all at times helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. But, thirty years later, Good News Clinics is
still a place of harvest, dealing hope in the form of healthcare. Thirty years later, many names hang in our
halls of those on whose shoulders we stand. The harvest is plentiful, indeed, and it is because of God, for God’s people and in God’s name that the workers, both seen and unseen in our ministry, answer the call to go to work.

Thank you to all of our donors; you are not only giving money, you are creating a less broken and dark world. You are light. You have entrusted us with much and much we shall be sure to give to this community on your behalf.

*Named spaces are as listed for spaces confirmed by naming agreements as of 10/25/22.  This list does not reflect all signature donors or a complete list of spaces which will become named by the completion of the expansion project. Good News Clinics’ expanded campus has dozens of naming opportunities for Signature Gifts of $50,000 or more pledged over up to 3 years.
